Community Grant Program
The Book Across the Bay Community Grant Program is our way of giving something back to our home community, and supporting the values that the Book Across the Bay event was created to promote. Each year, we make grants using proceeds from the previous winter's race. The amount of money we can give varies year by year, depending on the event's success.
Book Across the Bay 2012 Community Grant Program Guidelines:
- Applicants must be located in Ashland, Bayfield or Douglas Counties, and the proposed project must serve the residents of Ashland, Bayfield or Douglas Counties.
- Applicants must be 501(c)3 organizations, or else the proposed project must have the support of a 501(c)3 organization.
- Grant-funded projects should be consistent with Book Across the Bay's mission, which is to encourage physical and mental wellness among residents of the Chequamegon Bay region.
- In general, Book Across the Bay encourages requests to be made for specific projects or items that can be entirely funded from the grant.
- Certain exceptions may be made to these policies under extraordinary circumstances.
